How We Began
The company was formed at the start of 2018, after the Director decided to launch a business aimed at competing with industry rivals. With over 13 years of experience in pricing and managing projects across Teesside, the company has successfully built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality results. The company now holds 20+ years experience within the engineering and construction sector and have worked with companies such as SembCorp, Balfour Beatty, Parsons Brinkerhoff, Sabic, Amec, BP & Tolent.
Prior to PPMNE formation the director has worked on some large and diverse projects across the UK such as The Leadon Project (Global Producer 3 $700M)FPSO, for Kerr McGee at Swan Hunter Ship Yard, The Bonga Deep Water Project for Amec (£300M) Platform modifications, 40MW general gas turbine installation (£20M), High Voltage Electrical maintenance contracts on Wilton International Site (circa £2M annually), installation of the first UK Biomass boiler (£60M), management of a £3m annual budget for Wilton Site Infrastructure including the renewal and maintenance of all site offices, main power station, pipeline, culverts & pipe bridges.
In 2016 whilst working as a Quantity Surveyor on Wilton International Site, Teesside, our Director Richard O’Connor decided to pull away from Quantity Surveying in the Engineering sector and began the process of testing the market for local maintenance contracts. Within a year, Richard had created links with numerous local household companies for example BM Bi-Folding doors, Criterian, S&S Electrical, AJ Riley Architects, Connor Donnelly Construction, Browns Commercial, Applebridge Construction, Francis Ward Construction and in well known local shopping centres completing small maintenance projects for well known shopping centres such as Middlesbrough Dundas Arcade, Coulby Parkway Centre, Stockton’s Castle Gate. In 2016,
Richard founded PPMNE with a clear focus on delivering high-quality services and solutions within the education sector, Richard and his team quickly set themselves apart in a competitive landscape. By leveraging industry expertise and a deep understanding of the unique needs of educational institutions, PPMNE started to secure tenders, particularly in the area of educational infrastructure. This early success paved the way for the company’s continued growth, establishing PPMNE as a trusted partner in the education sector. PPMNE love the interaction we have with staff members as we have found it extremely rewarding seeing the progress and effects our work has on the people learning.
